Accommodated visitors who visit Petra on the first day of arrival from the border will pay the border ticket fee (90 JD) and get a 40 JD refund the next day.

Non-Accommodated Visitors

Ticket Notes

  • Please submit a valid passport to the ticket office.
  • Tickets can be purchased by cash or credit card.
  • Children under 12 years old are free of charge.
  • Two/three-day tickets are for consecutive visits.
  • Residents with a valid residence card (at least 1 year) pay 10 JD.
  • Jordan Pass ticket does not include the Petra by Night show.
  • Jordan Pass ticket holders should submit their ticket to access the back road route.
  • A daylight ticket is required to attend the Petra by Night show.

Club Car Notes

  • Club cars are available upon arrival, no need to book in advance.
  • You can make an appointment for return.
  • The club car can carry up to 5 people at a time.
  • Cash basis only, US Dollars and Jordanian Dinars accepted.
  • Children under 3 years old are free of charge.
  • Drop-off by 4x4 cars from Little Petra to the beginning of the Monastery trail costs 5 JOD per person (one-way), available for back and forth.
  • Club cars are available every day from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Tips for Visiting Petra

Be Well Prepared

Wear sturdy hiking shoes, light and loose-fitting cotton clothing, and a hat or cap to protect yourself from the sun. Also, don't forget to bring plenty of water.

Use Only Licensed Transportation Tickets Inside Petra

Make sure to use only authorized forms of transport within Petra. Check at the Visitor Center to confirm what is allowed.

Protect and Respect the Heritage Site

Petra is a precious archaeological site. Help preserve it by avoiding any actions that could damage the monuments or the natural environment.

Please Do Not Walk on the Monuments

Walking on the monuments can cause irreversible damage. Help us keep Petra pristine for future generations by staying on designated paths.

In Case of Emergency, Find the Nearest Tourist Police or Park Ranger

Should you need help, locate the nearest tourist police officer or park ranger for assistance.

All Tourists Must Exit the Park Before Sunset

For your safety, ensure that you leave Petra before sunset as the park closes in the evening.
